Building on the success of the Air Max2, Nike brought in the Air Max Uptempo ’95 at the end of 1995. This University Blue colorway keeps the nubuck upper theme sitting on a white bottom; now with a matching bright blue Nike swoosh on the ankle and heel. As if the visible air unit in the Max2 wasn’t enough, the Uptempo ’95 added three additional shots of air which many believe led to the signature feature of the Air Max ’95. Coupled with the letters “AIR” stitched on the lace eyelets and elastic pull tabs in the heel, this model continued to break barriers on court and push Nike to the forefront of basketball greatness. This iteration also donned a newly minted logo in a rubberized patch on the heel that would go on to represent the Uptempo line.
